My rare background of dual neurosurgery and orthopaedic spinal fellowship training, as well as the unique network of practitioners I have formed enables me to improve the lives of people living with back pain and spine disease. My mission is to get to the cause of your condition, then find the least invasive treatment that offers the longest lasting result.
Sub specialised training and care:
Many practitioners of different backgrounds (Orthopaedic, Neurosurgery, Pain medicine, Osteopathy, Chiropractic and Physiotherapy) see patients with back pain and spine disease, but they are not necessarily subspecialised in this area and often have to refer onwards when the limits of their expertise is reached. My fellowship has allowed me to focus on back pain and spine care and treat some of the most complex spine disorders.
Combined Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic spine fellowship:
Most dedicated spine surgeons who are fellowship trained, may have completed either an orthopaedic or neurosurgical spine fellowship. By completing a unique combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship, I have gained skills from both disciplines allowing me to treat a broader range of conditions of the spine and offer patients a wider variety of treatments.
Multidisciplinary network of professionals.
When surgery is not the answer, as is often the case, most surgeons will refer patients on to a practitioner of another discipline (Pain medicine, Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Physiotherapy) and will no longer be involved in your care, having formed a multidisciplinary network of professionals, I am able to continue overseeing your care ensuring that the root of your diagnosis is reached and an appropriate treatment plan is formulated.
Innovations in minimally invasive surgery.
My focus on minimally invasive spine surgery allows me to find the least invasive treatment that offers the longest lasting result. Sometimes this may be a simple injection, which pain specialists also carry out. However many practitioners often continue to repeat this procedure when its result is short lived, due to the limitations of procedures they can offer. With the broad innovative range of procedures I can offer I aim to find the one that offers the longest lasting result.
My one stop clinic review is the quickest route to your diagnosis and treatment plan by avoiding unnecessary extra consultations.
Unlike other practices, I offer a FREE 10 minute telephone consultation to eligible patients for a basic overview with a view to arranging a scan or other necessary tests BEFORE you attend my 30 minute face to face consultation for a thorough history and examination. As you will have already had your scan prior to this visit we will be able to formulate a personalised management plan at this first consultation.
